Hon. Bulus Commissions Schools, Rebuilds Hall, Empowers Youths Across Leko Koma Constituency

In a remarkable show of commitment to education and youth empowerment, the Member representing Leko/Koma Constituency in the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Bulus Geoffrey, has simultaneously commissioned multiple developmental projects across his constituency.
The projects include a four-classroom block at Government Day Secondary School (GDSS) Kojoli, a two-classroom block with an office at Jebe Primary School, and the reconstruction of Dediba Community Hall, which were all previously destroyed by a heavy windstorm that disrupted students’ learning activities.
In addition to the infrastructure projects, Hon. Geoffrey also empowered several youths with ₦100,000 each after completing training in agent banking (POS) business, to help them become self-reliant and active contributors to the local economy.
During the commissioning ceremony of the four classes block renovated by Hon. Bulus, the Head Girl of GDSS Kojoli, Melody Mathias, and the Head Boy, Abdullahi Kabiru Hayatu, expressed gratitude to the lawmaker for his intervention, promising to remain focused on their studies in the now conducive learning environment.
Speaking separately, the District Head of Yelli (Kojoli), Alh. Kabiru Hayatu, and the District Head of Leko who doubles as the acting district Head of Lendo, Alh. Adamu Hayatu, commended Hon. Geoffrey for his developmental strides. They appealed to the school management and community stakeholders to take ownership of the projects and ensure their proper maintenance for the benefit of future generations.
Also speaking, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Post-Primary Schools, Hon. Idris Salihu, urged teachers to impart transformative knowledge to students. He announced that the best-performing school in WAEC and NECO within the constituency will be honoured with an award as motivation for excellence.
In his remarks, Hon. Bulus Geoffrey said the initiatives were part of his commitment to boosting education, which he described as the bedrock of meaningful development, while complementing Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s efforts in delivering quality education across Adamawa State.
He emphasized that empowering the youth economically was crucial in tackling unemployment and promoting sustainable livelihoods in the constituency.
In separate goodwill messages, Hon. Ahmed Jingi Belel (Member representing Maiha Constituency) and Hon. Kefas Emmanuel (Member representing Song Constituency) lauded the gesture and encouraged teachers to remain dedicated in nurturing the next generation with discipline and values.
On behalf of women in the area, the PDP Women Leader of Mapeo Ward, Mrs. Mary, reaffirmed the women’s support for Hon. Geoffrey’s leadership, describing his interventions as “timely and people-oriented.”
The Principal of GDSS Kojoli, Mal. Yahaya Umar, appreciated the lawmaker for the new classroom block, assuring that the school will ensure its proper use and maintenance to enhance learning outcomes.
The empowerment beneficiaries will receive a free POS terminal within the week to fully Kickstart the business.
The event was attended by Education Secretary Jada LGA, PDP Leaders, Politicians, Traditional title holders among others.
