In a demonstration of Islamic brotherhood, compassion, and the spirit of sacrifice that defines the holy season, the Senator representing Adamawa Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Senator Aminu Iya Abbas, has extended financial support to Adamawa State pilgrims currently performing the 2026 Hajj exercise in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The distinguished lawmaker donated the sum of ₦30.6 million to the pilgrims, an intervention aimed at easing their financial burdens, supporting their welfare, and enabling them to perform their spiritual obligations with greater comfort and peace of mind.

The donation was formally presented on behalf of the Senator by his representative, Alhaji Tukur Iya Abbas, who handed over the funds directly to the leadership of the Adamawa State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Commission for immediate and transparent disbursement to the beneficiaries.

Receiving the intervention, the Executive Secretary of the Commission, Alhaji Salihu Abubakar, commended Senator Aminu Iya Abbas for his continued commitment to the welfare and development of the people, describing him as a leader who consistently prioritises the needs of his constituents.

Also speaking, the Chairman of the Adamawa State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Commission, Malam Abubakar Salihu, expressed appreciation to the lawmaker, noting that the timely intervention would provide much-needed support to the pilgrims during their stay in the holy land.

“This is not just a political gesture; it is an act of faith and compassion. Senator Aminu Iya Abbas has made the Hajj journey easier for many faithful Muslims through this generous support. On behalf of the Commission and the people of Adamawa State, we pray that Almighty Allah rewards his kindness abundantly,” Malam Abubakar Salihu stated.

Following the receipt of the funds, the Executive Secretary, Alhaji Salihu Abubakar, immediately set the machinery in motion by directing the monitoring and distribution teams in Saudi Arabia to ensure that every pilgrim from Adamawa State receives their share without delay.

Under the arrangement, the 1,528 Adamawa pilgrims currently in Makkah and Madinah have begun receiving direct cash support of ₦20,000 each, bringing relief and encouragement to the state’s contingent.

Beneficiaries of the intervention expressed gratitude to Senator Aminu Iya Abbas for the gesture and offered prayers for his continued success, good health, wisdom, and service to humanity.
