Gov Fintiri Reaffirms Commitment to World Bank’s BESDA Programme, Calls for Fairer Education Funding in Adamawa

Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the Better Education Service Delivery for All (BESDA) programme, pledging continued partnership with the World Bank to strengthen education across the state.

Speaking on Tuesday evening while receiving a World Bank BESDA delegation at the Government House, Yola, Governor Fintiri said his government is working tirelessly to ensure full and transparent implementation of the programme so that “every benefit reaches the people.”

The governor expressed gratitude to the World Bank for its sustained support but appealed for a fairer share of funding, citing the extensive damage caused by past insecurity which, he said, left many schools and education facilities in ruins.

> “Adamawa has suffered significant educational setbacks due to insecurity, yet we remain determined to rebuild stronger. We appeal for a fairer funding consideration to accelerate our recovery,” Governor Fintiri said.

He expressed satisfaction that the World Bank delegation did not report any negative findings during its field visits, noting that Adamawa State remains committed to transparency and accountability.
