Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has described the ongoing construction of the Jimeta Modern Stadium as impressive and directed the contractor handling the project to expedite work to ensure its timely completion.
Governor Fintiri made the remarks on Tuesday during an inspection visit to the stadium project site in Yola, where he assessed the level of progress recorded so far.
The Governor expressed satisfaction with the quality of work being carried out, describing the construction as excellent. He noted, however, that the project should have been completed by now but had been delayed by unforeseen challenges.
To facilitate the successful completion of the project, Governor Fintiri directed the contractor to meet with him to discuss an extension of time that would enable the work to be completed effectively.
He expressed confidence that, upon completion, the Jimeta Modern Stadium would position Adamawa State to host major national sporting events and competitions, thereby enhancing sports development and economic activities in the state.
Speaking on reports of structures allegedly erected on government land surrounding the stadium, the Governor warned that his administration would take legal action against any individual found to have encroached on government property.
Governor Fintiri reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and the execution of people-oriented projects aimed at improving the welfare and living standards of the people of Adamawa State.
