DAFEE Presents Uniforms to 250 Vulnerable Pupils Honours Governor Fintiri, Others

The Dadah Foundation for Educational Empowerment (DAFEE) has donated school uniforms to 250 poor and vulnerable pupils across Adamawa State, while also honouring Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and other education stakeholders for their contributions to the sector.
The presentation and award ceremony, held at the Admiral Murtala Nyako Hall, brought together government officials, educationists, traditional leaders, and civil society groups.
Speaking at the event, DAFEE’s Executive Director Dr. Usman Ahmad Dadah explained that the initiative currently covers 25 schools across Yola South, Yola North, Fufore, Girei, and Demsa LGAs, with a promise to expand the reach if resources permit.
He noted that the gesture aims to encourage enrollment, improve best practices, and motivate students, thereby enhancing the reputation and quality of education in the state.
The Head of Service, Pharmacist Shehu Isa Ardo, represented by Permanent Secretary, Pensions Board, Muhammad Auwal Ibrahim—declared the programme open and commended DAFEE for its commitment to supporting education.
In his remarks, Dr. Adamu Babikkoi, Special Adviser to the Governor on Good Governance who represents the Governor, said he had drawn inspiration from both Governor Fintiri and Dr. Ahmad Usman Dadah, founder of the NGO.
Beneficiaries of the intervention include pupils from Rumde, Doubelli, Karewa, Yelwa, Gwadabawa, Yolde-Pate, Ngurore, Bajabure, and Sangere primary schools, among others.
Chairperson of the Board of Trustees, of Non Governmentals Organization network Hajiya Aisha expressed appreciation to all partners, NGOs, and INGOs working to strengthen educational opportunities for vulnerable groups.
The Chairman of Yola North LGA praised the initiative, describing it as a challenge to all to do more in supporting vulnerable children, stressing that educating the less privileged is key to building a better society.
In his remarks, the Provost FCE Yola Dr. Muhammad Degereji who was represented by the registrar of the college Alh. Gidado Ahmed, expressed readiness to partner DAFEE to improve education in the state.
Among dignitaries at the occasion were the Registrar of Federal College of Education (FCE) Yola, Alh. Gidado Ahmed, as well as traditional title holders and other stakeholders.
For what was described as his “great achievements in education,” Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri was honoured with an award. Receiving on his behalf, Dr. Babikkoi dedicated the award to the administration’s reforms in the sector.
Other awardees included Deputy Governor Professor Kaletapwa G. Farauta, Vice Chancellor Modibbo Adama University, Yola Prof. Umar Ibrahim and Commissioner of Education, Dr. Garba Pella, Dr. Muhammad Degereji, Provost FCE Yola among others.
