In a strategic move aimed at strengthening and repositioning the Ministry of Information and Strategy, the Honourable Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Barr. Leader Leneke, embarked on a familiarization tour of all state-owned media organizations in Adamawa State.

During the tour, Barr. Leneke commended the management and staff of the various media establishments for their dedication, resilience, and commitment to effective service delivery. He emphasized the need for professionalism, teamwork, innovation, and accountability in ensuring that the significant investments being made by the administration of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri in the media sector translate into improved performance and quality public service.

As part of the exercise, the Commissioner inspected the ongoing construction of a new office complex at the Adamawa Broadcasting Corporation (ABC). He urged the contractor handling the project to adhere strictly to contractual specifications and timelines to ensure quality and timely completion.

Barr. Leneke also acknowledged the challenges confronting the media organizations, including inadequate infrastructure and obsolete equipment. He assured stakeholders of the government’s continued commitment to addressing these challenges through reforms aimed at modernizing media operations and enhancing workforce capacity through regular training and professional development programmes.

The Commissioner encouraged management and staff to remain focused, innovative, and dedicated as the government intensifies efforts to transform the state’s media landscape into a more efficient and vibrant sector.

The organizations visited during the tour included the Adamawa Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), Adamawa Press Limited (APL), Adamawa Television Corporation (ATV), and the Government Printing Press (GPP).

Barr. Leneke was accompanied on the tour by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Hajiya Hauwa Banu, alongside other principal officers of the Ministry.
