The Member representing Mayo-Belwa Constituency in the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Musa Mahmud Kallamu, has disbursed ₦8 million in cash and materials to his constituents as part of efforts to support the Christian community during the Christmas and end of year celebration.

The distribution exercise, which took place in Mayo-Belwa Local Government Area, was carried out on behalf of the lawmaker by a committee led by a critical stakeholder of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the area, Alhaji Rabiu Ibrahim.

Speaking during the exercise, the committee chairman explained that the gesture was aimed at promoting unity, religious harmony, and inclusive representation, noting that the Christmas season presents an opportunity to share joy and support with the people.

According to him, 40 beneficiaries, comprising youths, women, and the elderly drawn from the five wards of the constituency, received cash support and 50 pastors from across the wards were also supported with cash to assist them in carrying out Christmas activities.

Alhaji Rabiu further disclosed that the lawmaker approved ₦1 million as support to the PDP structure in the constituency, while 50 wrappers were distributed to women as part of a welfare package facilitated by the lawmaker’s wife, Hajiya Sa’adatu Musa Mahmud Kallamu.

He added that Hon. Kallamu also extended cash support to his Christian friends, while the Igbo community in Mayo-Belwa received ₦200,000.

The committee chairman emphasized that the intervention reflects the lawmaker’s commitment to the welfare of his people, irrespective of religious or political affiliations, noting that the initiative aligns with his long-standing tradition of supporting constituents during festive periods.

While commending Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his support to the state legislature, Alhaji Rabiu called on the people of Mayo-Belwa to continue supporting the government to enable the delivery of more democratic dividends.

Beneficiaries from across the wards expressed deep appreciation to the lawmaker, describing the gesture as timely and impactful, especially in view of prevailing economic challenges.

Many praised Hon. Kallamu for what they described as responsive and people-oriented representation, while praying for continued strength and success in his legislative duties.

Meanwhile, the committee, on behalf of the lawmaker, also appreciated Sarki Mallamai, Alhaji Yusuf Mbella, for supporting the programme with ₦3 million.
