ADAS-P SHOWCASES MILESTONE IN BOOSTING ADAMAWA’S AGRICULTURE

YOLA – Earlier today, the management of the Adamawa State Agribusiness Support Programme (ADAS-P) featured on ATV Yola’s Food Agric Programme hosted by Mr. Samuel, where they outlined the programme’s vision and achievements.Speaking during the briefing, Dr. Tasiu Yusuf Idi, Head of Component 1 (Value Chain Development & Climate-Smart Agriculture), explained that ADAS-P is designed to build a competitive, profitable, and sustainable agricultural sector in Adamawa State. He emphasized the mission of promoting smallholder commercialization through business linkages, access to finance, markets, infrastructure, and reliable information.Also contributing, Mr. James Birdling, Head of Component 2, noted that his mandate focuses on policy, institutional, and legal reforms that encourage private sector investment and create a more enabling environment for agribusiness in the state.Highlighting progress under Components 3 & 4, Mr. Musa Haman-Adama revealed that ADAS-P has successfully improved access to finance, investment, and programme coordination. Notably, the programme has overseen the upgrade of 12 major livestock and grain markets, including 5 cattle markets and 7 grain markets, enhancing infrastructure, improving drainage, and boosting the business environment for farmers and traders.ADAS-P continues to stand as a driver of agricultural transformation, ensuring farmers and agribusiness actors across Adamawa State prosper.
