The Adamawa State Agribusiness Support Programme (ADAS-P) played a significant role in the Validation Workshop on the Diagnosis and Analysis of Information Systems and Early Warning Capacities in Nigeria, held at City Green Hotel, Yola.

The two-day workshop was organized under the Regional Project to Support Pastoralism and Livestock Marketing in the Cameroon–Nigeria–Chad Cross-Border Territories (PASCO).

The project is supported by Action Against Hunger (ACF), IRAM, (AFD), with participation from government institutions, development partners, consultants, and key stakeholders in the livestock sector.

As a key participant, ADAS-P emphasized its commitment to strengthening Adamawa State’s livestock value chain through the modernization and upgrading of cattle markets.

The programme noted that improved livestock markets are essential for boosting trade, increasing market access, supporting pastoralists, and promoting cross-border commerce.

According to the workshop agenda, discussions focused on existing information and early warning systems, livestock markets, mobility, institutional coordination, and sustainability. Participants also engaged in group work to develop practical recommendations for improving livestock marketing systems and strengthening early warning mechanisms across the region.

These improvements are expected to enhance economic opportunities for livestock farmers and traders while supporting sustainable agribusiness development in the state.

The workshop concluded with presentations of group recommendations, priority actions, and next steps aimed at improving institutional collaboration, livestock market systems, and early warning capacities for the benefit of pastoral communities across the region.
