Adamawa Targets $1bn Investment, 2,500 Jobs Through ADIPA

The Adamawa Investment Promotion Agency (ADIPA) has unveiled plans to attract $1 billion in capital inflows and create 2,500 direct jobs as part of its strategy to reposition the state as a leading investment destination.
Speaking at a Stakeholders’ Sensitisation Forum in Yola, ADIPA Executive Secretary, Hon. Halilu Hammawa Malabu, said the agency—established under the 2024 ADIPA Law—was designed as a one-stop shop to coordinate and facilitate investments.
Malabu outlined key targets, including at least 20 new projects across priority sectors such as agribusiness, livestock, renewable energy, solid minerals, and industrial development.
He cited ongoing initiatives like the planned Industrial Park, Free Trade Zone, Adamawa Investment Summit, large-scale meat processing plants, solar power projects, electric vehicle investments, fertilizer plants, and the revitalization of tourism facilities.
He added that reforms such as streamlined land administration, e-archiving of Certificates of Occupancy, and removal of Right-of-Way fees have been introduced to ease doing business in the state.
Commending ADIPA’s efforts, stakeholders from local governments, the private sector, and traditional institutions pledged support for the agency’s vision.
Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Dr. Ishaya Dabari, urged business groups to build stronger partnerships and speak with one voice in advancing Adamawa’s economic interests.
On his part, the Director General of the Adamawa Chambers of Commerce, represented by Barr. Ibrahim B. Mustapha, applauded the Adamawa Investment Promotion Agency (ADIPA) for its efforts in attracting investors and promoting the state’s economic potential. He commended the agency’s strategies and urged it to continue creating enabling platforms that would open more opportunities for local and foreign investors, stressing that such initiatives are vital for the sustainable growth of Adamawa’s economy.
Also speaking, the National Women Leader of NASME Dr. Bitruce G. Benjamin, expressed appreciation to ADIPA and called for a roundtable dialogue to deepen collaboration and strengthen partnerships for women-led enterprises.
On his part, Alhaji Zubairu Bawuro, the District Head of Yola, pledged the full support and cooperation of traditional institutions to ensure ADIPA’s initiatives succeed, noting that unity and collaboration are key to driving investment and prosperity in the state.
