Adamawa State Embarks on World-Class Amusement Park, Approves 16-Year Tourism Master Plan

The Adamawa State Government has commenced the construction of a world-class amusement and tourism park designed to serve as a premier recreational and investment hub for the Northeast region.
The ambitious project, initiated under the administration of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, is expected to be completed within six months.
According to Hon. Aloysius Augustine Babadoke, Commissioner, Adamawa State Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the park will feature distinct recreational zones tailored for children, adolescents, and adults, creating a comprehensive leisure experience for all age groups. Plans are also underway to introduce human-friendly animals into the park, adding an educational and nature-friendly dimension to the facility.
In an exclusive interview with “The Trumpet News” in his office, the Commissioner says, Governor Fintiri’s administration has further approved a 16-year Tourism Development Master Plan, which will be implemented step by step to ensure sustainability and long-term growth.
The plan aims to transform Adamawa into a leading tourism destination through infrastructure upgrades, community engagement, and cultural preservation.
As part of this broad vision, the state government will overhaul the Adamawa State Council for Arts and Culture, including the construction of a 700-capacity cultural centre to promote artistic expression and performance.
In line with capacity building and global best practices, the government has also sponsored 18 tourism officers to the Sukur World Heritage Site, Nigeria’s first UNESCO-listed cultural landscape, for hands-on training and exposure to international tourism management.
“The Trumpet News” reporter who visited the construction site, confirmed that work on the amusement park is progressing steadily, and the official flag-off ceremony will take place soon.
Governor Fintiri reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to diversifying the state’s economy through tourism, culture, and entertainment, describing the amusement park as a “legacy project that will redefine leisure and tourism in Adamawa State.”
