The arrest followed intelligence-led operations carried out by police operatives in collaboration with local security stakeholders after the abduction of one Alhaji Ahmadu in Malabu on January 30, 2026.

According to a statement issued on Tuesday by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the operation was conducted in compliance with the directive of the Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, to intensify action against kidnapping and other violent crimes across the state.

The statement said a joint team of police operatives and members of the Miyetti-Allah carried out a raid on a suspected kidnappers’ hideout at Jera village in Malabu District, Fufore LGA, where three suspects were apprehended.

The suspects were identified as Lawali Haruna, 45; Yahaya Ibrahim, 25; and Da’u Alhaji Ahmadu, 28, all residents of Jera in Fufore LGA.

Police described the development as disturbing, noting that one of the suspects is the biological son of the victim. The command said the suspects have confessed to their involvement in the crime.

The police added that efforts are ongoing to rescue the victim unharmed and to arrest other members of the criminal gang, while the three suspects remain in custody as investigations continue.

Commissioner of Police Dankombo Morris commended the collaboration between the police and local security groups, assuring residents of the command’s commitment to protecting lives and property across Adamawa State.

He urged members of the public to continue providing timely and credible information to assist security agencies in tackling crime.
The command said further developments would be communicated as the investigation progresses.
