The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, Hajiya Aishatu Mohammed Umar, has urged all Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Service Providers engaged under the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) Project in Adamawa State to carry out their responsibilities diligently and professionally.

She made the call during the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Adamawa State Government and the GBV Service Providers at the Conference Hall of the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development.

The event brought together government representatives, officials of the Adamawa State Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) Project, and GBV Service Providers from various organizations to formalize their partnership towards the full implementation of the AGILE project in the state.

Speaking during the ceremony, Hajiya Aishatu Mohammed Umar described the engagement as part of the AGILE Project’s commitment to ensuring that out-of-school children, especially girls, return to school and continue their education for a better future.

According to her, GBV Service Providers remain critical stakeholders because of the important roles they play in combating gender-based violence. She therefore urged them to continue supporting the Fresh Air administration of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri in building a greater Adamawa State.

In his remarks, the Adamawa State Coordinator of the AGILE Project, Engineer Siddiki Liman, commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his continued support for the education sector, noting that the sector has witnessed remarkable improvement under his administration.

Also speaking, the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer of the project, Mr. Hyelda Bathon Ati, alongside the Redress Safeguard Officer, Lydia Ma’ajam, highlighted the technical aspects of the project and the measures put in place to ensure its successful implementation across the state.
