Adamawa State Police Command Dismantles Kidnappers’ Hideout in Song, Neutralizes Suspect

The Nigeria Police Force, Adamawa State Command, has dismantled a suspected kidnappers’ hideout in Song Local Government Area, neutralizing one suspect and recovering arms and ammunition during a fierce gun battle.

According to a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the operation followed a reported abduction of two persons in Song LGA. Acting swiftly on the directive of the Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, officers attached to the Song Divisional Police Headquarters, in collaboration with local hunters, launched a coordinated rescue mission.

The operatives traced the suspects to a remote hideout located around Maigero, linking parts of Maigero, Song, and Sandau villages. On sighting the advancing security team, the kidnappers reportedly opened fire, resulting in a gun duel.

During the exchange, one suspect identified as Sada of Maigero Village was neutralized, while other gang members fled the scene, believed to have escaped with gunshot wounds.

Items recovered from the scene include one AK-47 rifle, two magazines, and eighty-three rounds of live ammunition.

Tragically, one of the kidnapped victims was killed by the assailants during the confrontation.

A member of the local hunters who participated in the operation sustained injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment.

The Commissioner of Police has directed the Command’s Crack Squad in Yola to take over the investigation and intensify efforts to apprehend the fleeing suspects and rescue the remaining victim.
