Ramadan: Mayo Belwa Lawmaker Distributes N7m Worth of Food, Cash to Vulnerable Residents
Kallamu Extends Ramadan Support to Mosques, Households in Mayo Belwa
The Member representing Mayo Belwa Constituency in the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Musa Mahmud Kallamu, has flagged off the distribution of food items and cash donations to vulnerable and needy persons across the constituency as part of his Ramadan support initiative.
The intervention, which covered 26 Juma’at Mosques, households, and community forums, is aimed at easing the burden on fasting families during the holy month.
Speaking during the exercise through his Special Assistant, Abubakar Adamu, the lawmaker stressed the importance of charity, especially in Ramadan, urging well-meaning individuals to support orphans and the less privileged in society.
Kallamu who is the chairman House Standing Committee on Information explained that the items are being distributed across mosques, homes, and community gatherings to ensure fairness and wider reach among beneficiaries.
Also speaking, the Special Assistant to the member on Political Affairs, Alhaji Rabiu Ibrahim, said the people of Mayo Belwa are proud of the lawmaker’s consistent generosity and commitment to their welfare.
Some residents who spoke in separate interviews lauded Kallamu for the gesture, noting that the intervention would go a long way in alleviating the hardship faced by many families in terms of food and basic needs during Ramadan.
