Saraki Commissions Federal Housing Estate Road Network in Adamawa
Former Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, on Monday commissioned the Federal Housing Estate road network executed by the Adamawa State Government under Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.
The project, located in the Federal Housing Estate, Girei Local Government Area, features reinforced concrete drains, culverts and a 3.5-kilometre stormwater drainage system aimed at improving access, mobility and flood control within the estate and neighbouring communities.
Speaking at the commissioning, Dr. Saraki commended Governor Fintiri for what he described as consistent, people-centred infrastructural development across the state. He praised the governor’s leadership style, noting his integrity and commitment to the welfare and progress of Adamawa people.
The former Senate President urged residents to continue supporting the Fintiri administration to enable it to deliver more dividends of democracy.
In his remarks, Governor Fintiri said the commissioning went beyond the handover of a road project, describing it as a reflection of his administration’s governance philosophy anchored on results, accountability and service delivery.
He said the road network would ease movement, reduce travel time, stimulate economic activities and strengthen social and commercial interactions within the estate and adjoining areas.
Governor Fintiri recalled that the project was flagged off in May 2024 to address long-standing access and mobility challenges, reaffirming his administration’s resolve to complete all awarded projects and avoid abandoned works.
He assured residents that ongoing and future projects across the state would be executed with diligence and integrity, stressing that no community would be left out of the development agenda.
Earlier, the Commissioner for Works and Energy, Alhaji Adamu Atiku Abubakar, described the road network as a critical internal link serving residents, traders, commuters and service providers. He said the project has reduced travel time, improved road safety, enhanced property values and created employment during its construction.
He commended the contractors for delivering the project ahead of schedule and urged residents to safeguard the drainage infrastructure.
Goodwill messages were delivered by the Chairman of Girei Local Government Area, Adamu Dallatu; the member representing Girei Constituency in the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Abubakar Abdullahi; the District Head of Girei; and the Abandoma of Adamawa, Dr. Ahmad Ibrahim Musa, alongside Halilu Hammamjoda.
They praised Governor Fintiri for his infrastructural achievements and commitment to grassroots development.
