ADAS-P Strengthens Agricultural Finance Pipeline, Engages Agents Ahead of 2025/2026 Dry-Season Input Scheme

In a strategic move to enhance smallholder farmers’ access to agricultural finance, the Adamawa State Agribusiness Support Programme (ADAS-P) in collaboration with the Adamawa Cooperative Farmers Association (ADACFA) convened an engagement meeting with agent networks to prepare for the 2025/2026 Dry-Season Input Finance Intervention Scheme.

The high-level session, held at the ADAS-P Programme Conference Room, focused on deepening the agent framework to support timely loan disbursement, structure recovery systems, and strengthen field-level service delivery. Key highlights included a review of the 2025 wet-season intervention results, discussions on commission-sharing structure, and the strategic responsibilities of agents in ensuring effective loan recovery and support to farmers.

Chief Operating Officer of ADAS-P, Yunusa Ibrahim Gafai, emphasized the significance of the meeting, describing it as a cornerstone for sustainable agricultural financing.

“This engagement reinforces our commitment to building a reliable agent network that ensures farmers receive the right inputs at the right time, while maintaining efficient recovery mechanisms,” he stated.

Representatives of key agricultural stakeholders commended ADAS-P’s leadership and its transformative impact on crop production and rural livelihoods.

Chairman of the Community-Based Seed Entrepreneurs, Mallam Baba Sahabo, praised the organization’s interventions:

“ADAS-P support yielded remarkable results. We now have sufficient certified seed — a success we could not have achieved without their commitment to support and quality agriculture.”

Also speaking Seperately, Mohammed Jabbo of NNIL and Amos Bitrus of Nuru Nigeria described the engagement as a major milestone in strengthening collaboration across agricultural institutions.

As preparations intensify for the upcoming dry-season farming cycle, the strengthened partnership between ADAS-P, ADACFA, and field agents signals a renewed resolve to drive agricultural productivity, rural finance access, and food security in the state.
