Delegation from ADASP and ADACFA Join Climate-Smart Agriculture Drive in Gombe

The Adamawa State Agribusiness Support Programme (ADASP) and the Adamawa State Agribusiness Cooperative Financing Agency (ADACFA) participated in a three-day Climate-Smart Agriculture and Volunteer Extension Advisory Services training in Gombe, organized by the Center for Microenterprise Development (CMD) in collaboration with Propcom+ and UK International Development.

The training, which began on October 22, 2025, aimed to equip smallholder farmers with digital tools and practical knowledge to adapt to climate change and promote sustainable farming.

CMD’s Managing Director commended the collaboration for advancing climate resilience and digital transformation in Northern Nigeria’s agriculture.

Led by Usman Abdullahi and Lucious Shadrack, the Adamawa delegation’s participation highlighted the state’s commitment to modern agribusiness practices. ADASP and ADACFA also ensured transparent farmer selection through cooperative verification before the event.

Participants received hands-on training in digital farm mapping, weather forecasting, and pest prediction technologies. The programme also emphasized the role of Volunteer Extension Agents in driving local climate-smart initiatives.

The engagement reinforced ADASP and ADACFA’s shared goal of advancing smart farming and building a climate-resilient agricultural system across Adamawa State.
